You want to earn more, isn’t it?

The simple reply for that is- “you need clients”.

If you have been into business for quite some time, you must be aware of the difficulties in finding new clients.

A business owner or freelancer spends most of the time searching for new clients. That’s because you never know when your previous client stops liking you.

Fantasies are different, but this is the truth.

Even the best of client relations have to end some day. While friendships remain for a
longer time, but monetary needs of your clients decide their business engagement with you.

Now, what is the big question?

The big question is, how would you search for new clients. A method that is effective and
fast.

Well, the answer is- A BLOG.

Some people reading this might have heard this thing a million times, over and over.

On every other traffic and web development blog, you find the authors telling you to set up a blog.

All the web gurus and successful business owners tell you to set up a blog.

And those of you who haven’t set up a blog which is successful yet, are looking for a solution to this problem.

Don’t worry, I will tell you how to establish a successful business on the base of a blog.

Let me give you an example. A true story. So you may understand and implement this concept in the best manner.

A couple of years ago, I stepped into full time freelancing. I had been a part time
freelancer for three years before, but I wanted to choose it as my career.

With only $50 in hand and a laptop, I began my freelancing journey.

Those of you who are familiar with freelancing websites might remember Elance(now Upwork).

I had earned some money through elance in the past, so I decided to use it further to run
my business and pay my bills.

Time went by, and I was making more than I expected on Elance. Some of my clients had become good friends and were giving me recurring projects.

Everything was going perfect until I realized that- I WAS STUCK.

Yes, that’s right. “I was stuck”.

Freelancing through such sites is a bit different from a 9-5 job. But it’s not entirely
different.

The similarity is your growth.

I realized that I was working on low paying projects. I was earning somewhat more than an average freelancer on Upwork because I had higher rates.

But when I compared it to what other off-the-beat writers were earning, I was shocked.

To make things worse, last year, one of my best paying clients decided to leave
Upwork.

I was so much dependent upon their projects, that I never felt a need to find new clients.

Although I had several other clients, but their share in my income wasn’t substantial.

I stumbled and stooped throughout Upwork after that tragedy. And I found out that I was too lazy and careless to find new work now.

My expectations and expenses had risen, but I was still getting paid pennies for my content.

I had nowhere to go. No solutions, no hope.

That’s when I decided to gather my courage and move forward.

Luckily, I had been a thorough reader of “make money online” blogs in the past.

While I learned copy writing I used to read about other successful copywriters. About how they found work and made money.

Just then an idea clicked into my  mind.

The idea was to set up a BLOG.

There were a gazillion websites out there pointing towards the importance of a blog.

I thought I should test it on my own.

Now, how does a blog get you more clients?

The answer is straightforward and simple.

What do you do, when you need to search for an answer online?

Simple, you google it out.

Once you search google for a term, what do you find?

Search Results. Exactly.

What are those search results?

They are blogs. Just like this one. Just like yours. get more clients through blog

The ranking is a different factor, but your blog is an answer to somebody’s question.

Just like this blog is giving you an answer to your question.

For example, let’s say you are searching for, “how to write good product descriptions”, for your e-commerce store.

You land on the blog ‘write-product-descriptions-convert‘ which has the answer to your question.

Now, you have received some tips for writing good product descriptions.

As this website is targeted at people looking for content writing services, you would like to browse the website for more.

As you dig deeper, you found out that the website also offers blog writing, web content
development and other services.

This way you would get to know about the services the website is offering.

Now you become a prospect, and once you start communication through the contact form, you’ll get to know more about the services being offered.

Now imagine yourself as the owner of the blog.

You earned a prospect just by answering a question over your blog.

Now multiply these figures.

If 20 people read your blog daily on an average, that translates to 600 people a month.

If your conversion rate is 5%, 30 people will contact you as prospects. And if your sales
skills are good, you can close at least 5-10 projects a month.

That’s all the calculation from one blog post.

Imagine the volume of prospects if you have 50 such blog posts on your website.

How to set up a blog for your business?

Search out for the problems people face in your industry. Offer them a solution for their problem.

Your blog should not always be focused upon selling your services to the reader. You shall offer best and general solutions to your readers.

The rest will follow.

If you are not so good at writing, or you want to improve your conversion rate, you can
always hire a blog copywriter.

This ensures that you will have a higher conversion rate and a lower workload.

Best of Luck.
